15,850 fans in the stands and 19,576 tickets sold. Not bad for any college basketball game, men or women...
How big was that technical foul on the Tenn. player? Game was going back and fourth and it looked as if Tenn. was getting the momentum back. The Tenn. player had to talk smack after a great play. It was actually refreshing to see the refs call a technical foul for that type of behavior. It goes on way too much in the men's game IMHO. That was a great win by the Lady Tigers. The Tenn. vs. LSU women's games the last three years have been fun to watch.
Don't underestimate the impact of going into Knoxville and knocking off Summitt's girls. UConn lost to Rutgers last time out so that will sway the voters as well, although, it's tough to overcome the East Coast bias.
Did anyone see how Pat Summit got a private ten minute meeting with the ref after the technical foul- give me a break.
I loved the ref's explanation, complete with all the body motions of the UT player. We laughed at that!
I just found it odd that a school that boasts that they sell out and pack their arena for every women's game doesn't even fill up for the LSU game. I wonder if they expected them to lose?
