Jones, a native of Bylthville, Ark., started all 36 games last season and helped lead the Lady Tigers to a second straight NCAA Final Four appearance and the program's first regular season Southeastern Conference championships. She averaged 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds last season and 5.0 points and 4.3 in 93 career games. During her career, Jones collected three double doubles, including 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds in victory over No. 18 Georgia this past season. She posted a career-high 16 points in a win over Mississippi State in 2004. "Wendlyn has been an integral part of the success our program has enjoyed in recent years. Her experience and competiveness will be missed next season," Chatman said. "During her career she battled back from two major knee injuries to help lead us to consecutive Final Four appearances and a SEC Championship. But the wear and tear of competition has taken a toll on her body and we have agreed she will not return for her senior season.? She will graduate this summer and will go on to do great things in life."
LSU post rotation is pretty thin on experience for next year. Beyond Fowles, there is 6-1 Jr. Hanna Biernakka, who didn't see a lot of playing time this past year, 6-0 Ashley Thomas, who injured her knee mid-season, and 6-2 true frosh Kristen Morris.
