  2. Our defense giving up a 13 point lead, to me was not the problem. It was the poor play calling in the second half. With a 13 point lead, we should have been running it with C. Scott or Keiland and not throwing the ball with a less confident Matt Flynn. I agree although, our D should be playing like the #1 D in the land, and it has not.

Second, I don't think anyone on this board should be telling anyone not to post because of lack of posts. If you have 10K posts, It definitely does not mean you know more about LSU football, it just means you have alot of time on your hands. Im not pointing you out, LSU Gradin99, just ones who tell people they should not post.
  3. Hey is that you Les???
    wait...is it Flynn?

  4. Really?!!? We were winning until that happened. Winning by double digits even. If we still had that double digit lead when regulation ended, who would have won the game?
  5. Maybe we should withhold judgement on Lafell in regards to his role in offense AFTER his wrist heals up.

I absolutely agree with you with Flynn, however. He is a play maker; and he plays hard for the team:thumb:
  6. I really would like to see more catchable balls going D. Byrds way. He looks really strong after the catch and no drops so far when its been thrown to him. Looks pretty fast also and seems to get separation. Some of the drops attributed to Lafell would have to have been specatacular catches and aren't totally his fault. If somebody could get the ball to the recievers where they are not reaching back or in a decent position to make the catch i don't think we would be seeing so many drops. I don't think it would hurt to let Perilloux throw the ball every now and then. He's looked pretty good throwing it when given the opportunity. Also Scott looks like our best pure running back. Imagine Hester and Scott in the backfield with Perriloux at QB, Byrd and Doucet (when he gets heathy) at reciever, and Dickson at TE. That would be a lot big time play makers all on the field at the same time and very hard to defense.
  7. With Flynn still as our starting QB though and Lafell also starting.

  8. Byrd and Tolliver seem to have good hands...only question is how well and precise do they run the routes, being young to the system. I'd love to see them more on the field to help out. I am not counting J. Mitchell out. I am sure the coaches know who will be best suited on the field.
  9. Look at the pass by Flynn to our TE. The ball was perfectly placed in his hands (where the defender could not get) and he still missed it. Had he made that catch the game was over. Our D is the best in the country... but also beat up after the Florida game.
Mistakes happen on both sides of the ball... it happens but we will regroup and we will be again be unstoppable. bad games happen. There's too many variables. But i'm sure if you were on defense you'd pick off every pass thrown or sack the QB every time.
  10. IMHO, I think you may be right about Lafell...at least until he gets it together. I noticed at one point in the game Saturday, Lafell was on the bench...and we had 4 WR's in the game. I think that was a message...and hopefully it will work. If not, try not starting him...or even playing him for a while. Put him back in when the game's out of hand and let him prove that he can do it IN THE GAME. Obviously though, he does something in practice to make them start him.

As far as Flynn goes...although my opinion of him may be misconstrued at times...I believe he should start. BUT...if they trust RP enough to bring him in at all...I am confused as to why he didn't play in the second half or the 3 OT's much at all. I honestly don't know if he's a better passer than Flynn. I seriously doubt he's the leader Flynn is. However, when he IS in the game...the running game excels. IMHO, concerning the 13 point lead...we should have played RP a little more...and utilized the running game. I think Flynn...by that time...had lost confidence in his receivers...and maybe even himself. Charles Scott absolutely rocked in the first half...then had 2 carries in the second. Geaux figure. KW hardly played at all. I don't exactly think a team should "sit on" a lead...but with our running game...we have that luxury more than most other teams.
