Yeah I stand corrected, he has made a bit of a bounce back from 3 horrid seasons from 04-06. He has now gotten back to the level he played at his first 2 seasons. I still characterize it as "disappointing" overall. He was a high 2nd round pick. If he was a late 3rd rounder, yeah then you get what you pay for. He has averaged 40 catches a year for 470 yards and 1 TD on average. That's pretty pedestrian numbers for that high a pick.
yeah but look at that draft class. He is right there with receptions. maybe not yards or toucdowns. which by the way, kind of nullifies my original point about the quarterbacks not getting him the ball now that i think about it. damn! hit me cajun punk!
Disagree. You could put just about any QB on the Raiders team and they would struggle as well. They are a horrible football team with an even more horrible O-line IMHO. JR never had a chance.
so Jamarcus deserves to be the 4 highest paid player in the NFL? i see your point though, it is a tough environment to be successful. not saying he wont ever succeed, just saying for what he is getting paid....bust.
Tom Brady the chosen one himself wouldnt make the Raiders better at this point in time. With their coaching problems, O-line, poor defense and the biggest pimp-gangster west of the mississippi river Al Davis, its pretty much a sesspool right now.
If they agreed to pay it, then he deserves it... You can't buck the guy for continuing on the trend. This year's 1st rounder will get more than last year's and so forth. It's generally the way things go. The way I look at it, JR's not the bust, the Raiders are just stupid for thinking 60 million to one player would completely turn around an otherwise dreadful team. Just like when someone buys a $1,000,000 car. Some other guy always says "That car's not worth that money.", when in fact it is. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If nobody buys it, it's obviously not worth the asking price.
