I think it was cover 3 on that play. Looked like Chevis got burned and Steltz couldn't get over in time to prevent the TD.
I'm sure Brodie had nightmares about the hit. Landry is one of the last guys I would want coming at me unblocked...ouch
Ugh, Hookfin!!! Usually, when you hear a player's name, it's because of a registered tackle, sack, defended pass, INT, etc., but for him, it was ALWAYS, "Hookfin was lost in coverage," or "Hookfin was caught out of psition." He was the Josh Booty of the defense for a while. It was tough watching LSU stall the run game, with CB Webster shutting down his side, but then seeing Hookfin get torched. UGH!!!
I'd always scream saying 'please loook back for the ball Hookfin!!!". He did eventually improve though.
Well, we said that about Jack Hunt as well but he turned it around. I'm not saying that Steltz is going to do the same thing (and I agree with you that he's not Laron's backup) but it's possible. I'm not going to say that he's going to ease the loss of a player like Laron should Landry go pro, but I think he'll be ok if he turns out to be the replacement and work beside Jessie Daniels. But I think Curtis Taylor or Chris Hawkins would be the likely choices.
I found this on ESPN's draft coverage website. LaRon is already listed. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft/tracker/school?name=l&draftyear=2006&action=login&appRedirect=http%3A%2F%2Finsider.espn.go.com%2Fnfldraft%2Fdraft%2Ftracker%2Fschool%3Fname%3Dl%26draftyear%3D2006
So is Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Lendale Whit etc.etc. It looks like they just listed all underclassmen who might come out even though they haven't declared one way or another. If Bush does go pro and is the # 1 overall pick, will this be the first time in NFL history that the #1 pick in back to back drafts came from the same high school?(Alex Smith, Reggir Bush)
