Not quite. He used his dad's friendship with PC to get his first USC gig as a WR coach. 4 years later he became AHC/OC/Recruiting Coordinator. He was largely responsible for bringing Leinart, Bush, White, etc to USC and they set a few records along the way. Having talent alone doesn't guarantee success. Coaching is huge. He was taking USC down the toilet this season because he is miserable as a HC. He left and it's clear we had talent. He is also a successful recruiter. This could be the right job level for him. He's still a douchenozzle though.
Layla is the only positive of this hire as I see it. Everything kiffin has touched has turned to shit. He could be sabans kryptonite.........and I definitely hope he is, they deserve each other. Hopefully saban gets caught sqeezing her charmin.
It is kind of funny that USC shit all over him. He took that job right after USC got hammered with sanctions. And they fired him for being average.
Saban could command the gumps to bring him Layla, and they would, and he'd have to watch like Flash Gordon.
He was a major reason they were on probation. Thats why it shocked me that they let him and yaw yaw return. Like uscvball said, kitten was a major player in reggie bushs recruitment. Dont for a second think that the free house wasnt part of that recruitment. Why would they need to negotiate his family illegal benefits AFTER he was a condom?
Is there any doubt this is one of the best post/bowl/off seasons seen in years? I'm still SMH and laughing...
It has been very interesting so far. Lord knows it's usually more interesting watching paint dry this time of year.
