LK's great, redeeming value to SC was that he was a great recruiter. But, I don't see how that skill set will help him in the NFL. This move might hurt SC in terms of recruiting, but I doubt it. Carroll is one of the best recruiters, and he can more than make up for LK's loss.

I see you've been doing some reading bitter

Your comments come straight from the boards at WeAreSC and like any board, the comments are not always accurate. Chow was not "forced out" by anybody. Lane's paternity certainly helped him get a foot in the door but he earned the job and has done extremely well. As far as this Trojan is concerned, I am grateful for the job he's done and I wish him well. My goodness, look at our last 3 recruiting classes. Lane has been phenomenal.

The loss to utla does not fall squarely on Lane's shoulders. There were no half time adjustments like we had gotten used to but let me tell you, the players did not execute well either. Our O-line looked horrible. Passes were dropped. utla had their best game of the year and our guys were obviously looking ahead. They played uninspired football. That is on PC's shoulders, not Kiffin's.

If you check history, Chow was similarly excoriated for poor play calling in several games, including against utla 2 years ago. We were lucky to get that win. The same WLP's (Whiney Lil Pukes) who ride Lane's ass today are the same ones who rode Norm's butt for 3 years. Why is it that Kiffin is an NFL head coach today and yet Norm is still batting .000?

There is nothing but upside to this change and here's why. Those who don't like Lane are happy he's gone. Those who like Lane are happy for him. Sark is happy because he's now the only OC. Lane is happy because he's now got a job that only 29 other people in the country have. If he gets fired in 2 years, so what. He'll get re-hired in a New York minute and his bank account will look a whole lot bigger. Lane grew up around the NFL and he's always wanted to get back....mission complete. Al Davis is happy because he has a puppet who will let him make most of the decisions. PC is happy because he has admiration for Lane and like any good boss, wants his direct reports to do well.

Lane has been an extremely effective recruiter and that will need to be accounted for. I'm going to guess that PC has a short list that he's been carrying around for awhile. Look for Ken Norton as a possibility. He's perhaps the most under the radar position coach in CF today and a very effective recruiter. IF McKnight ends up at SC, then it will be because of Coach Norton. What makes that all the sweeter is that Ken played college ball for the bruins. He's all Trojan now.

    Forgot to ask bitter

When the irish got lucky against those same bruins IN South Bend, did you all blame it on YOUR OC? Did Charlie take the PR hit? Honestly, if it hadn't been for a few missed tackles and a great run by Jeff S. utla would have left that stadium with a W.

    Did I say love?

Hmmm. I got love for only one team. I do however, have respect and deep "like" for the Tigers. Trust me, that's the ONLY other college shirt I even own or would wear and it's an SEC school for goodness' sake! Where I live, that's like Donald Trump going to the office with an I Love Rosie T.

Must be that Southern charm that tiga's got. :hihi:

    I'm impressed, that means either
A.) you Cali girls CAN be properly educated
B.) tiga is one hell of a BS artist (this is my guess)
    C.) a little of both.

So, then, you agree with the rest of the Tiger fans here that LSU were the real champions in 2003, and USC shouldn't have annointed itself co-champions?
