With so many new players coming in, only Whit Weeks, Braelin Moore, D J Pickett, & Trey’Dez Green, are players you can consider a lock as starters. Expect fierce competition for all the other positions. Come Sept. they should be battle hardened. Last years team often played soft.

Unbelievable hall in the portal, and I love that Barber, the WR receiver that almost got from Oxford to BR faster than Lane, now has a 5th star and a higher ranking than Tristan Keys with at least one service. Got to say though, while there's no doubt the new rules with the portal and NIL are good for the players in general, I feel like its going to be impossible to connect with the team as a fan. Travis Daniels once gave up his redshirt for the conference championship game because he was needed, and said,"I play for the name on the side of my helmet, not the one on the back of my jersey." Today's players are free agents, with no personal connection to the school beyond the dollar amount on their NIL deals. Not to mention the massive roster turnover every year. It was so cool 10 years or so ago to watch Debo Jones and Duke Riley step on and be stars after a couple of years waiting for their turn. Now, they play right away or its on to the next school and next NIL. I'm afraid watching games now is going to feel like watching the second half of an NFL preseason game. No idea who these guys are, just cheering for the jerseys.
