It's all overstated Hurricane. I don't know if I qualify as a MF, but I don't hold anything against him. :hihi: Quinn got weighed, measured, and completed 24/5 on the bench press. He has opted to work out at nd's pro-day. I think that is a mistake and will hurt him much more than the same decision will hurt JR. Look at Troy Smith. Heisman Trophy winner. Good QB, good kid. He said it plain as day. "I've been on the banquet tour". He wasn't in the best shape and wants to wait until pro-day. Good decision for him. At some point, it's just people with nothing better to do than critique other people whom they would gladly trade places or salaries with. Let's wait until draft day.
maybe.. But I think he always played between 257 and 260, so its just an extra 5 pounds. And everyone in the country knows he has a tackle's frame, so a 7 or even 10 pound on Russell is like a 3-4 pound on any other QB.
The problem with Quinn is he concentrates way too much on toughness, he thinks he's going to be a reciever or a RB. What he needs to understand is he is a QB, he is going to THROW the ball, not tackle people..
Russell has always gained weight in the off season. This would have been a smart one to stay in shape for.
I dont gaurentee any player's success in the NFL, but LaRon is the closest I will come to that assessment. He litterally has it all and I hope (and plan) to see him do very well in the NFL. I have to say, however, it is somewhat surprising to see him measured at 6' even as opposed to 6'2". But I suppose that, when it is all said and done, if the worst thing you can say about a player's combine is that he was a mere 2" shorter than advertised, then they had a pretty darn good combine. Lets hope he can solidify that top ten pick status with good numbers. But do yall think hell stay at FS or move to SS?
Holy hell!! Those videos just reminded me how much I'm gonna miss that nasty SOB! I know our new guys have the athleticism and bodies to be like Laron, I just hope they have that all out aggressive killer instinct like him. He truly put the fear of God in opposing QBs and "would-be ball carriers". I hope he continues his good work of annihilating QBs around the NFL except Mr. Brees of course... I'd love to see him suit up in black and gold but the chances of that are pretty slim.
Holy whiplash concussion, Batman! Thanks for those links, Tiga. ....sends chills down my spine every time I see it. WOW!
I met him in the stands after the Sugar Bowl. The first thing I said after the fact was "There's no way that guy is 6'2"". I kinda figured him in the 5'11-6' range.
That was my guess. I only stand about 5'8", and remember thinking there is NO WAY that guy is 6 inches taller than me. 3-4 MAX.
