The only team to even reach tehir avg points per game against this D was Kentucky (and it took them 3 OT's to do it) #1 rushing D in SEC (#5 in Nation) #2 pass D in SEC, only 7 yards per game behind So Caorlina, (#4 in the Nation) #1 total defense in SEC (#2 in the nation) #1 scoring D in the SEC (#5 in the Nation) 2003 Pass D. = 191.3 ypg / 2007 pass D = 160.63 2003 Rush D. = 68.15 ypg / 2007 Rush D. = 71.6 2003 Total D. = 259.5 ypg / 2007 Total D. = 232.25 2003 Scoring D. = 108 ppg / 2007 Scoring D. = 15.4 Statiscically, we stack up quite nicely with the '03 squad, which was widely regarded as one of the best in College Football in recent memory. We have the best D in the SEC! And the 2nd best in the country. Yet for some reason, you have lost confidence in them. What more do you want from the? Obviously, being the best ain't good enough for you. So what exactly to you expect out of these guys. No problem.
:LSU231: has a fantastic defense. It may not be the #1 in the country statistically, but they are very good. Recommend SI.com. I believe we're in the top 5 or six in nearly every defensive category. AND we've played one of the toughest schedules in the nation. I'd be more interested in a stat that measures how often we let a team GET to the red zone. 37 yard field goals are pretty easy fare for most kickers, so keeping teams from scoring from that distance seems like a poor stat to me. If you want to worry about something, worry about sacking JPW this afternoon. That's the stat I'll be looking at. :geaux:
