Here is a similar article from the advocate. It mentions that they will experiment with RJ Jackson at WR during the Spring and Summer practices. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/6060461.html
Sounds to me like the ball is in Alley's court. I'd love to see things straighten out and us have him but if there's a "Silver lining" it shows even though Miles is a "Coach's player" he's not a player when it comes to expectations. We'd be o.k. without AB but I'd feel more comfortable having depth without compromising talent. If there are some attitudinal problems developing, let the chips fall where they may, but I have to believe it'll be a wake up call for him and make him hungry.
Les recruited two kickers this year if that tells you something. David is dependable in his range, but LSU needs a long kickoff guy and a 50-yard field goal kicker. If the freshmen can do it, they will see the field.
Note that Rabalias doesn't put the negative spin on it that Guilbeau does. It's not Les Miles' comments that suggest Broussard and Miles don't get along . . . it is Guilbeau's headline and "analysis" that does. Rabalais is just a better reporter, which is why he has Guilbeau's old job.
There's no problem between Miles & Broussard. Miles is the one that had to convince him to come back to the team a couple times last year. The problem is with Alley. He just isn't motivated... He's still overweight and hasn't shown any signs of getting back to being the player he used to be. If he doesn't shape up he'll only see limited PT next year.
Actually if you reread it, you'll find that Miles was asked if the problem with Broussard comes from his work habit or his attitude. Miles answered all of the above. So I think there are some serious issues here, and Miles wont even give him any playing time considering what Miles said. He said he doesnt know where to put him in the formula. Remember there is Keiland "Superstar" Williams, Charles Scott and "the new threat everyone is talking about" Murphy. Not to mention Holiday will get carries in every game, and Hester, as a Fullback, I guess, will get some carries too.
I meant no problem with Miles' & Alley's relationship. The serious issue here is with Alley's lack of motivation. I think he probably cares more about his rap career. Even if Alley stays out of shape, he'll see atleast some PT, IMO. I don't think he'll get more than 300 yards on the season though. Every game? I wouldn't say that just yet, and even if so it won't be more than one or two. We'll see...
Based on what I heard on his MySpace a few months back, that's a surprisingly bad decision. Doesn't he know that if he makes it to the NFL, he can just hang with rappers and make it rain all he wants??
LOL Let him rap , he will make more money rapping than in the pros. He dropped the ball alot didn't he ??
