I recall he only fumbled once against Arkansas when there were 5-6 guys around him trying to steal the ball. I think he's a heck of aplayer with great potential, he just needs to work.
No, he didn't. He got injured and never returned to playing shape, letting guys get ahead of him on the depth chart. It's discouraging and he's discouraged.
agree 100%... We really need a guy with simply a strong legs for kickoffs (probably a different guy more focused on accuracy for FGs). Remember, the NCAA is more than likely (if it's not official already) moving the kickoff spot back farther this year so anyone that was putting a bit short last year (5-15 yard line) might be putting it REALLY short this coming season. I don't like that one bit unless we really got a good leg on kickoffs. On the flip side, I think our return game will give our O great field position on a consistent basis.
yeah seriously, we sucked in that!! One punt return and one kickoff return for touchdowns the whole season, and it was because of the athletic abilities of Davis and Holliday. Not to mention how many yards we have given up on kickoffs...I hope Miles treats this problem in the offseason.
I guess your right, we didn't have the usual number of TD returns. I guess we were spoiled with Skyler Green. I just think Trindon will be improved this year, i know he relies on pure speed but I think his vision and just having more experience returning will show. That coupled with receiving the ball outside of the end-zone more often will simply translate into more chances for him to break the big ones (as opposed to kneeling it or even having to hesitate to think about downing it.)
So who is going to be handling punts? At least until one of the new kickers gets up to speed. Is Colt a punter too?
