"QFT", internet slang usually meaning "quoted for truth". This term applies on forums and posting boards where users can edit their posts, thus the QFT holds the poster to their original statement. It is also used to express agreement with a previous poster's statement and validate its veracity. Other variations include "quoted for truthiness," "quoted for truthery," yep just found it. still trying to figure out exactly what it means. am i retarted or is this just explained really strangely?
It just expresses agreement with the quoted post. It can also be used as evidence as of an orginal post that was edited if you get into a super awesome internet argument.
Oh, I'm sorry... Did I offend anyone when the cool thing to do is to leave at halftime? What? The entire stadium doesn't do that? What about athletics needing to sell student tickets because they weren't showing up? Right....
Yeah you're right I forgot about all the times no one left but the students. Care to refresh my memory of when that was? Why do you hate the student section?
The REPEATED F*** chants.... I think the TD "Suck" stuff is stupid... not horrible, but the F bomb is completely unacceptable. Then students lashing back saying they have every right to do it? Hmm.... Did you know that CBS has a right to tell the refs to give an unsportsmanlike conduct to the crowd? They were halfway there on Saturday. Once was bad, but the fact that it happened a second time is ridiculous. Don't get me started on the Tebow cell phone thing.
I guess that's what Miles was coming over to the SS to tell us after the game and we just couldn't hear him. Its good to know that people will still complain after the best game ever in TS.
OMG, please people. Ive been to countless Tiger games, have sat in and next to the student section. "Graduated" there in 79, trust me, we dropped more than our fair share of "F" bombs...the student section has "always" been ultra vocal, they should be, and need to be, on every campus, not just LSU. I went to a UF/LSU game down in the "Swamp" are few years back ( BTW, Im not singling out UF, just using this as an example ), the seats werent far from their student section..OMG, Couldnt believe the stuff coming out of those kids mouths, even as "worldly" as I am, I had to cringe a bit from time to time. My friend who brought me along ( a Gator fan BTW ) said..."Just ignore those idiots". Its not cool to use that sort of language when there a bunch of preteens sitting not far away, thats for sure, but by gametime, a great majority are ""s***faced" already. Its classless, but these kids today are a lot less "subdued" for lack of a better word, than we were back then. I suppose someone needs to address it...but that wont happen unless Coach sits down and has a long chat with the student section. But I think he, and everyone else knows it probably wouldnt do any good anyway. It does make the school look bad when ya hear that on national TV, but I think they, "the networks" I think, do it intentionally now. They knew better than to get the microphones too close to us back in my day! All that being said, until the SEC steps in or the NCAA, and starts flagging the teams for it, I doubt this will ever change. Of course even a step in "that" direction constitutes a freedom of speech and freedom of expression issue..."whew"...big can of worms. No simple answer. :lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!:lsup:LSU!
First of all Coach Miles cannot hear those childish rants because of two reasons: 1) On the sideline during the game you cannot make out such dribble when the rest of the intelligent stadium population is making noise. I am there every home game! 2)Coach Miles is too involved in the game to hear specific chants. Coach Miles is family oriented and I'm sure he wouldn't care for his children(they were on the field at the end of the game) to have to hear from a bunch of students who can't handle their liquor and are showing their rear ends off to the nation. Coach Miles left the field singing along to "Hey Baby" but he didn't follow along with the student section when they insert B***h into the song.( Once again I know this because I was standing by him when he left the field.) Coach Miles appreciates the student sections passion but it is ridiculous to believe he is condoning the ignorant and juvenile behavior of a select few.:thumb: As a former student I never felt I owned LSU just because I went to school there. I guess I appreciated the privilege of going there. Respect your school by not disgracing it on national tv. Grow up! If you can't control yourself when you drink, here's a novel idea...Don't drink(that applies to everyone), especially the drunk fool I had arrested for urinating outside my gate before the game.
This is a topic that really aggravates me. At the Tulane game when the band started playing the Touchdown Ditty after the first score, I was shocked when my fellow students went right back to the "you suck" chants, even after all the hooplah made over it the week prior. Fast forward to this past weekend's game with Florida. The band strikes up Touchdown Ditty and, again, here come the "you suck" chants. Naturally, the band had to pull it. I was livid at this point. It was obvious that the powers that be had realized that maybe they had overreacted by saying that it could not be played at the games any more. This was our one chance to shine, to prove that we still deserved to hear the band play. We blew it. F Tebow? Seriously? Do you not get it? This isn't an issue of LSU threatening your establishment of your independence (any ignoramus can throw out a "f--k ____"), but an issue of the university being made to look like a giant group of blockheads. I'm a 24 year old LSU student. I'm not saying that I am older and wiser, but I do think that the gap from 18, 19 to 24 is a huge one. I know what is right and what is wrong. I understand that when you're a kid, fresh out of your parents' home that it is "cool" to be rebelious, and that it is "cool" to do things that are taboo and risque purely for the shock value. I get it, I really do. But it has to stop. It should be noted that I have a great passion for not just LSU football, but the university as a whole. I too hate Florida, just like the rest of the students. I go to every game (home and away) and scream on defense until my brain is throbbing. I'm also really not above using curse words myself. But to chant the F bomb in unison... that just makes my (and OUR, since we're all supposed to be on the same team here) university look ignorant, inarticulate, and simple-minded. Not to mention that it makes you, my fellow students, look like children. The fact is, we live in a politically correct society (whether we like it or not) where doing those things are just not okay. This is something that cannot be changed. Not to mention that the university has requested that we not represent them in a negative manner. Every time you step on campus, you immediately become an ambassador for LSU. You literally represent the university in the eyes of many. It is because of this that we should respect the wishes of the school that we love. No one is calling into question the fire and furvor of the student section. Everyone is very appreciative of the passion that is shown by my fellow students, myself included. But to uphold the integrity of our university, some serious growing up must take place. That being said, I'm very proud that we're loud and intimidating. I was elated to see Miles thank us for that on Saturday. But we do not need to throw out F bombs or scream "you suck" to reach that level of intimidation.
