skip is like the big rat with his three blind mice. this news is totally appalling. how in the **** do you get a new deal after 1 year with the former coaches talent.
You win 11 games for only the 3rd time in school history in the aftermath of Katrina. That's how douche.
You are both right, 11 games especially with the turmoil of last year is a great accomplishment, however he was getting pretty good pay and a new contract after the first year is crazy.
While I agree that one season is too soon, he's done everything right so far & shown that he has the program on the right track for continued success.
I don't have a problem with the raise. It's a very fair amount for one of the top jobs in the SEC. Didn't he take a pay cut to come here in the first place?
This isn't an official announcement, boys, there may be more to this story. 11-2 rates him a bonus, sure, but one year does seem a little early to renegotiate a contract. CRAWFISH has not predicted this and there have been none of the usual rumors.
According to this article Miles was the 21st highest paid coach in 2003, ahead of Ron Zook, Tuberville, and Urban Meyer and he was in the 1-1.5 mil range. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writers/mike_fish/12/19/coaching.contracts/index.html
Weis renegotiated after a year. It's not unheard of. You are probably right though, it may not be a real renegotiation and I won't believe it until CRAWFISH confirms it. Hell, I think Miles is really Saban in disguise and the imposter Saban, who is really Miles, is coaching Miami, all because CRAWFISH guaranteed Saban wasn't going anywhere.
