If miles would retire say next year or so, I think chavis would make a great coach. I don't know how old chavis is. I hope miles coaches another ten years or longer at LSU. During that time I would love to see him mentor a replacement that could carry on his legacy.
Only need to look at the depth chart, IMO. Only Sr. starters on offense are T-Bob and Blackwell On defense, there's Taylor, Baker and...... (crap! who am I missing?)
Really good points, KE, and something I have been considering myself for a while now. One thing I have noticed about Les is this -- when he feels confident in his team he lets them go out and make plays. We saw that in 2007 with all the gutsy calls and wild finishes, and I think we see it now. He leans on veterans more when maybe the overall team quality isn't as high, but he'll play the young guns when he's confident in them. This secondary could be the best I've ever seen in college football.
I just love to hear Les talk . . . "You're going to see a multiple-scheme running attack," Miles said of the Bulldogs. "I really felt like the Oregon attack, which was very capable, did not necessarily use scheme to its advantage. In this instance, there is quality scheme." They got them some quality scheme.
Red when you hear him talk like this it usually means he is confident in a win....or should I say a "want" to "compete for victory"
