You'll notice I used the word "opinion". You are certainly entitled to yours, so don't think I'm slamming you. I just happen to disagree and posted my reasoning. You have a point with Auburn and Alabama, but I think that's more of a case of a state with split loyalties. If you look at Oklahoma, there are OSU alums, and then the rest of the entire state is for OU. It is clearly a #1 and #2 situation there.

Not at all. All I said was put it in one of the other many threads that already say the exact same thing. It will bump the thread to the top and people, if they want can go and read it. This type of thead clutters the board, IMO.

If someone started a thread that the Dan Rather story against Bush was false, then someone else posted, then you came and posted it, I would say the same thing.

TF90....its difficult to post dissenting threads when the deed is done because we have no choice but to accept Les Miles. Im sure there are plenty of people that agree with you (just look at the board over the last few days) but it serves little purpose at this point to harp on that anymore. Les Miles is our coach regardless if he was a bg time hire or not.

Dont worry though, at the first signs of a stumble next year you will see dissention pour outta the skies like rain but you will always have the sunshine pumpers to offset that. :)

    Les is More.

All I'm saying is Give Les a chance.
Ciao to Norm Chow...he would've been my first pick. Neuheisel --second.

However, I'm happy about Les. Any protege of Schembechler's is a friend of mine.

Very well. My apologies. Perhaps someone can merge this into another thread. Sorry. I am really not here to get anyone riled up. Thanks. :thumb:

    Two things:

    1. I waited until the deal became official before I "unloaded." Things could have changed, even as unlikely as they seemed. So I shouldn't be faulted for waiting.

    2. I won't be one of those people who goes ballistic if Miles "stumbles" next year. I try to stay "fair and balanced." ;) This was the only comment I have made about the hire. On the flip side, I do think there is upside. This isn't a bad hire and I never said it was. But I think many people see this as an identical situation to the Saban hiring. Many would have thought that the program would have graduated to another level to give someone else a shot to keep it going. Miles may be that man, I don't know. I'll support him and wait and see. That said, I expect the Program to at least take a step back before it cranks up again. This is all a part of Miles making sure LSU remains the top recruiter in the area and continues to branch outward. If he saves all of the recruits and picks up a few more, I may have been wrong, but I just don't see that at the moment. Nevertheless, I am not here to criticize Mr. Miles or anyone else here. Thanks. :)

It's all good. We have been a big happy family for a while. We are now facing some adversity. Just a bit of in-house, sibling bickering, but we will all come together yet again in short order. I am confident of that! :thumb:

Believe it or not, I prefer Miles over Neus. At least we know that Miles runs a clean program. I am not saying Neus doesn't, but he had his troubles at CU and UW. Granted, the UW thing may have been blown way out of proportion, but what about CU? Anyway, it doesn't matter now. I think we are getting a good guy, but can he succeed at the level of Nick Saban with LSU? Only time will tell. :)
