Ted seems to make stupid ass comments all he time. he was the same guy i was talking about a week or two ago at another Miles presser. The dude just asks strange questions.
I'm very surprised that I haven't seen this addressed at all on the Family of Networks today. The way they've reacted to things in the past, my guess would have been that they would crucify him for any reply other than "no comment."
Am I in a Time Warp, or is this guy Senile? I thought the Erin Andrews story was coupla years ago. Why in Heaven's name bring it up now? And why with Miles, who had no prior connection with the matter? He does now, thanks only to the question itself; press creating its own news. Castillo's motives? Self-promotion? Taint Miles' well-deserved integrity? Decaying frontal lobes? Either way, LSU would be best served by withdrawing whatever credentials get him into the pressers. That might go viral too, but it would be good publicity, and consistent with a zero-tolerance attitude to such blatant gender discrimination. Imagine a video of a naked Lou Courso going viral. On second thoughts, maybe Herbstreit. Then ask Miles what he thinks about that. Would that get Castillo kicked out? We get distressingly biased coverage from ESPN already. They don't need any fodder from BR.
This wasn’t from a while ago, the interview happened Monday. The local ESPN radio guys were playing the interview, and were busting up laughing, calling Ted a stone cold pervert, and congratulated Miles on how well he handled the delicacy of the question. They then segwayed into having the callers help create a guest list of porn stars to have as guests on the show during the upcoming porn convention. Then decided they would invite Ted to join them, that way he can finally see what he has been looking for through all the keyholes.
ok, people who ask these kind of questions have never heard him at a press conference. he really is a senile old man. it wasn't meant as a serious question by castillo. even when his questions are taken seriously, ted is usually not.
I think Bonnette needs to tell him he can do one of two things. Sit in the corner and observe (no questions) or don't show.
Thx for the insight into Casillo's MO. I'm not sure a senile old man is qualified to determine the trivial from the substantive. This question was just quicksand for CLM. He negotiated it rather well.
it's a question that i don't even think castillo meant to be answered seriously. when it was asked the rest of the press was laughing. he even prefaces it with how long he's been in the media he always wanted to know something (thinking he was going to lead into a deep question about football) and then he asks that. it was a bad attempt at a joke, period. everyone should just pat ted on the head give him something shiny to play with and move on.
