On Sunday when approached about the LSU rumors Miles wasn’t eager to address it.

“Please don’t talk to me about that,” said Miles. “Where is that from?”

Miles talked briefly when told it was from reliable sources like ESPN, CNN and Louisiana newspapers.

“It’s flattering, it’s speculative and certainly it’s the result of the success this program, this school, and this football team has had. I’m looking at one thing, and one thing only and that’s beating Ohio State.”

Standard answer from a coach that has an upcoming bowl game.

I like Les Miles and think he would be a great 2nd or 3rd choice. I think hes also sick of being in the same state as Bob Stoops and would come to LSU in a second.

Sounds a lot like what we heard from Saban in the past, questioning where the rumors are coming from and then getting short and aggravated when pressed for answers. I bet we get an acknowledgment in the next few days from him and others. I am waiting for the search committee to start leaking names of the coaches that they are interested in.

The only problem I have with Miles is his ties to Michigan.

Other than that, a solid choice who has made some real inroads into Texas from a recruiting standpoint.

He has also impressed two big time recruits in Demarcus Granger and RJ Jackson, two guys that we're after, if we got Miles then I could see him delivering both of those guys. But the fact that he went to Michigan concerns me also, but I bet that is probably the only job he would leave LSU for if he is our next coach.

He's in a similar situation that Saban was in while at Michigan St: he's the 2nd largest fish in the pond.
