As TenTexLA pointed out on another thread, "Speaking from the heart is a language in it's self ... As Skip Bertman says in today's Advocate, he wishes everyone could here Coach Miles in the Locker Room talking to his players. He's one of the best and the players relate and respond to him." Here are some clips from that Advocate article: [Skip] Bertman called upon his decades as a coach to render yet another analysis of Miles. Bertman said Miles, the man he hired to ring in 2005, is a team builder and motivator in ways outsiders can’t understand. “I wish you guys could see him at halftime with the team,” Bertman said. “I wish you could see him after the game with the team.” By all accounts, behind closed doors Miles speaks with a passion and eloquence that isn’t often evident with cameras and tape recorders rolling. Miles said he and his wife, Kathy, went on to other teams in other places and fell in love with those places. “This one here,” Miles said of LSU, “is damn special. I’m just letting you know. I certainly will always care very deeply for my alma mater, but I’m very happy here.” http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/12583221.html?index=1&c=y
I was listening to a local sports talk radio program while driving home from work Tuesday night and one of the guys was talking like CLM..."quality opponent" ... "damn strong football team" ... etc.. He said about 5 or 6 of his quotes ... (all in good taste) I immediately thought of this thread and began laughing uncontrollably. The more I think about it the more I like our coach!!! The way he says some words (now that we've laughed over it) really cracks me up. And his chit eating grin too!!! :crystal: :geaux: :crystal: :geaux: :crystal: :milesmic:
