both of those guys have not only an secc but a national championship on the wall. so right or wrong, thats the bottom line.

LSU had arguably the best talent in the country last year and didnt win the conference so many will remain skeptical until that happens. I have no problem with that.

comes down to personal belief in les however. some wholeheartedly believe in him to bring us to the top of the mountain and plant the stake title in it.

others dont belive at all and never will unless a NC follows which is short-sighted.

and I fall into probably the largest category of those who believe yet would like it to be affirmed with a conference title. i dont think hes the greatest coach but hes shown hes much better than i ever believed beforehand and certainly with his assistant hires helps his cause. yet thats to his credit for doing so.

he may have just the right mix of foresight and lack of ego which allows everything to fall in place. the last 2 bowl appearances are reassurance of that.

the players believe and play much looser than they ever did under saban. the coaches believe in the head man because he lets them do their jobs minus jimbo but hes no longer here.

so in the long term im of the belief CLM is a much better fit for our program than an overbearing personality. now all he has to do is plant that stake in the best conference around to remove any doubt. of course even then some will still not be satified because it was luck or sabans recruits or whatever nonsense. some people are just never happy.

This is true. Don't forget Urban also won a share of the Title in '04. Alot of handicappers stated that if the 3 undefeated teams were allowed to settle it on the field, the Utes would have beaten SC by 2 and Auburn by 2 TD's.

No he didn't, all 4 of players I mentioned, committed to Les Miles, not Nick Saban. And Miles did get Ciron Black back for us as well. And did extended Trindon's greyshirt. This was all on Rivals, Scout & the Baton Rouge Advocate. I'm sorry you don't like coach Miles, but the man can coach & recruit.

Fuzzy logic at best. If you want to name the 4 kids who gave their verbal pledges after the new year of 2005 Miles Recruits, so be it.

Not really. I'm guilty of stirrin' up the ol' pot once and again.

He doesn't get huge recruiting props from me for getting a home-state QB whose high school coach hated Saban. RJF was an academic casualty and barely got his grades in order in time. We were competing against the likes of USF for his services; Miami didn't want the grade risk.

Why does he get so much credit for honoring a greyshirt on kid?

Our athletic administration saw fit to cotton bowl politick rather than prepare for the SECCG.

Ricky Jean-Francois Played for LSU as a True Freshamn, was impressive & worthy of his high 4 Star ranking. Brandon LaFell is a tremendous WR. Don't fool yourself, everyone in the US wanted RJF. He was the one who snubbed Miami & others and picked LSU. IF you think that Miami offer ever left
RJF's table, you are sadly mistaken.

Even Tyson Jackson who Saban did recruit, never made a 1 tackle for Saban.
