BTW, I didnt know that only Giddens was charged with identity theft. If hat is the case I assume Thomas will be back with the team after a relatively short suspension. We need backup Olineman more than ever but Miles should make a statement with the suspensions. http://www.nola.com/lsu/t-p/football/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/117678919555470.xml&coll=1
You can be as tough as all get out and still have a few kids who will have trouble with the law. The minute you slack off, then it will be more than just an incident here and there. The thing that scares me about these guys getting into a fight is that they can seriously damage someone. A buddy who played Oline and boxed at West Point taught me, even goofing around, guys that big can really generate some power.
I give a lot of room to anybody who is 6-6, 260 that wants to fight when they get to drinkin'. Firewater and big folks who like to fight ain't a good mix.
I hope that isn't true but if he started it and the victim ended up with with major injuries, Anderson needs to be kicked off the team. There is no excuse, if true, for a scholarship player to be starting something like that.
Anyone that attains true wisdom usually lives a long life. :thumb: Good for CLM, I am glad another coach isn't handing out ice cream cones.
I'm assuming this is a situation similar to that of Chase Pittman (well...Pittman claims he was defending a girl...but still). Kudos to Miles for having the stones to handle this unfortunate situations the right way--suspend the violators--reguardless of who they are or what the status of their playing capacity. I'm rather disappointed with Miles having to suspend players for breaking the law, but at least he's doing it. In today's version of college football, I guess we should consider ourselves somewhat fortunate to have limited law-breaking situations. So long as we don't start challenging Florida State and Tennessee, I'll feel relieved.
If I tell you that I am going to "kick your ass" ---that's an assault. If I do "kick your ass," -----------that's a battery. If I tell you that I am going to "kick your ass", and then do it, that's assault and battery. If I just "LIGHT INTO YOUR ASS" and then you really "beat the chit out of me", THAT'S A TOTAL PHUCK-UP
I agree, but you're right, Miles is handling it the right way. Needs be damned. You disrespect the credibility of the team, you're going to get suspended.
Like I said, Anderson isn't the one that really beat him up. It was some other guys (non football players). If Chase wasn't kicked off the team, Anderson won't be.
