i wasn't trying to diss anyone. i thought it was an HD thing not a cable carrrier thing. if you took offense to what i said i am sorry and it was not intended in that way. i was cutting on myself for dumb luck.
they had FOUR channels with the same freakin' game. really, I think 3 would probably have been sufficient enough for the Fresno/ASU fans, especially since they advertised that people in Louisiana that they would see the LSU/UCI game IN IT'S ENTIRETY!!!
I actually need to apologize to you, it is because of the reply to your email that I thought you were dissing, but after I read it, I see what you are saying. Sorry. :thumb: I wasn't implying that you were an ESPN lover or anything either, those comments were meant to those who are jocking them at this point...like Pothead Plant.
I Understand people being upset about not getting to watch the rest of the game, but while it's important to us to finish watching, they have a nationwide audience to think about. You think they'll be getting ratings from watching a national power house beating a small directional school by 20 runs? If you email them, it will just make us all sound like winers and actually hurt our chances of getting stuff televised in the future. Be grateful that you got to watch the majority of the super regional and that they REPEATEDLY talked about how great the fans were.
does the nationwide audience require a game to be on FOUR DIFFERENT CHANNELS for them to watch it? seriously, I would like an answer to that question. Do you really think their ratings improved any by broadcasting the EXACT same thing on all tof their channels?
Nah, part of the reason ESPN thinks LSU fans are so great is because they are used to receiving a flood of angry phone calls, letters, and emails whenever ESPN offends LSU even in the slightly way. I've seen the ESPN college football talking heads tease each other about this on air... one of the new guys at the time said something that wasn't 100% singing the praises of how great LSU's football team was, and Herbie teased him about all the angry viewer responses he was going to have to deal with when he got back to his office
ESPN was supposed to allow Louisiana to see the game in "it's entirety". It isn't about a "national audience" dude...it was about leaving the game on in the STATE OF LOUISIANA. Don't tell me to be "grateful" like your my step dad and you let me use the truck to go get you a beer. Forget you. BE GONE! It ain't about a NATIONAL AUDIENCE...it is about the audience in the state of Louisiana, and that's what your missing. Upsize that.
