    Speaking of conference championship games.... The Pac-10 is pretty clever in the way they schedule their season. They always make sure to have theiur last weekend of conference games played during the weekend of championship games of other conferences. Thus, they end up putting USC vs whichever cupcake they are playing on national television - because there are so few games being played it gets televised by default. USC ends up coming across as a completely dominant team and gets all the publicity, if not more, that the SEC championship game and Big 12 championship games get...... A shame...

    Here's the question....... can the coaches be objective?

    Uness their votes are consistently made public, the answer is clearly "no."
    Too many favors owed, too much politics, and mostly too much money at stake for some conferences. Why do you think Mack Brown is publicly begging for votes?..... 'cause the conference stands to benefit for another $12MM if Texas makes it into the BCS.

    Until these matters are settled on the field, we're stuck with an objective system that favors programs "in or adjacent to" major media markets.
