I don't question his ability, but he has not played much this year and his loss will not be significant factor in the game against Nebraska.

Out of these suspensions, I feel that Lester will hurt the most. He had a game changing capability about him. He was our home run threat when he had the ball whether it was as a running back or a receiver out of the backfield on screens.

We did play the first three games (including LSU) without Sears and Blackmon, so the linebackers behind them have experience in big-time games. Karibi DeDe was basically a co-starter with Sears in the middle, but DeDe is better against the pass and Sears is better against the run. Merrill Johnson is a capable back-up to Blackmon, but there was a reason why Blackmon was the starter. He is another one of those guys who is a game changer. He caused Leaks fumble when we played Florida. He is also responsible for countless big hits and mood setters this year.

As yall probably know, Al Borges has always relied on two backs in his system (most teams do now with the pounding players take) and now our 2nd back is either true freshman Ben Tate or 5th yr Senior Tre Smith. Ben Tate has all the potential in the world, but he is just a freshman. Whereas Tre Smith is not very gifted athletically but is a senior who knows the game. It'll be interesting to see who gets the carries.

Regardless, I hope both Lester and Blackmon will be back for spring ball and play next fall. But from what I have been hearing aroudn certain circles is that Lesters suspension will just be for the bowl game...but Blackmons will be longer. I hope he is sitll on the team next year, he is all-world when he has his head screwed on straight.

The word I hear is they were suspended for not attending class. I'm not sure why you interpret it as Tubs losing control. All the press I have seen so far puts TT in a positive light for enforcing his rules uniformly whether the player be starters or walk-ons. At least he isn't buying them ice cream or giving them one game suspensions when we paly a weak team.

Guys, this isn't an example of CTT losing control. It is another example of CTT exercising control. I have heard missing an exam as a reason, but whatever the reason, CTT has proved that if you mess up you WILL sit. Doesn't matter who you are.

I would be worried if guys were screwing up and not sitting until they were injured or it was more convenient. Then I would think CTT was losing control.

(What should really piss these guys off is all the loot that the NCAA lets the players have for playing in a Bowl game is gone, gone, gone)

This was my thought exactly. Say what you will about Tubby; the guy has become a nemisis of LSU. But I've got a lot more respect for him than I do for Meyer after seeing how he treats his suspensions.

Agreed. I hate him for his past, but respect him as a coach. Plus, I actually think he learned a valuable lesson for his past transgressions. Maybe not
