The more thought I put into it the more anxious I get. I will agree with a lot of what has been posted above, looking back to last season, some can easily argue that we were two game, two touchdowns away from going to the big dance. Had the ball bounced our way, things would have been different. But at the same time, had the ball not bounced our way in other games, LSU loses 5 games last year. It’s easy to say “Hey, when the final whistle blew, we had more points on the board” regardless how we got them, but I don’t want to be ignorant. We beat some good teams last season, but didn’t dominate, and we can just as easily lose 5 games this season as well. Like we said, “One play at a time” “One game at a time” “One win at a time”
It's much easier to blow a close game than win a close game. I don't think Les Miles gets enough credit for how good our teams have been when the game gets close. Our team just seems to want it more and it shows in the practice and execution of our team in the 4th quarter. We may be lucky to not lose 5 games a year but prepared teams aren't just lucky, they make their own luck. Having said that, I don't believe we will go undefeated. I'd rather just 'enjoy' the season as it comes. Each game presents its own challenges and there's no need to put the added pressure on the team as fans - our job is to support the team not set the bar at undefeated seasons.

I'm predicting we will win the West, and will be in the Sugar Bowl National Championship Game for the 3rd straight time. Undefeated? If that's what it takes, fine. Sky is the limit for this team in my opinion.
Either way, it should be an exciting season, with so many big games (like always) it would be hard to see it different. Even if we don't go undefeated and lose one we would still most likely go to the NC.
With our rugged schedule it is unlikely that we will go undefeated. It is unlikely that any SEC team will do so, but one always seems to manage it in most years. We are certainly capable of it if a quarterback emerges. Otherwise we are looking at 9-3 or 10-2. Alabama, Florida, West Virginia, Oregon, State, Auburn and Arkansas are all capable of beating us and we are capable of beating them. It all depends on injuries, weather, turnovers, and pure dumb luck.
As much as I hate those close games, you are right about Miles and this team not getting enough credit. It seems now a days everyone expects to blow the other team out to be considered a contender. In our conference that is really a rare year to run the table with little effort. This team gained valuable experience in close games. These kids have shown they have what it takes to dig deep and make a play when needed.:tigereye:
