I may be wrong but I think we're talking about the same year. I'm calling the 2003-2004 season 2004 cause that's when the final standings were posted and it was taken out in 2004.....grasshopper. :hihi:
If SOS was taken out in '04 for the 04-05 season then I was wrong. So lsudolemite, in saying this : was correct. I stand corrected. :thumb:
Correct. The '04 season (Bowl games play Jan '05) was the first not to have SOS as an actual component of the computer formula. That was also the first year they took the "quality wins" component out. In other words, everything that kept USC out, was removed the following season.
In my opinion the key to the NC is the offensive line. Since the NC team the tigers have had talent all over the field but to me the o-lines have underperformed a bit. Again this is just my opinion but with the Talent returning to the line, and if they can stay healthy I feel good about a powerful offense that can pound the ball with 5 solid RBs capable of receiving carries.
I bet you would try and sell one to a Bama fan but they still use horse drawn carriages to get around the trailer park.
The key difference between the 2003 team's oline and the last few is that the last few have used alot more zone blocking, while the previous teams used more down and pull blocking... watch the tapes from the last couple years.. rarely do you see a lineman pull...
