The cigars don't bother me a bit. Tuberville ran up the score on beaten LSU teams when he was at Ole Miss and later at Auburn including scoring with 3 seconds left and faking taking a knee. He incited the fans in 2001 with the logo jumping incident and the band incident, we hold him responsible for the poor discipline of his players. He's a prick and we don't like him.

Jimbo Fisher is a coach who's moved around like all coaches do. He's not an Auburn coach, he's an LSU coach and we like him just fine. I don't think he will accept the MSU job with the probation thing happenning, he can do better than that and we will probably lose him soon. Then again, he may be hanging in here to be in position to step up when Nick actually leaves LSU.

MSU could do alot worse than Herm Edwards. But he is a pro coach if fired would probably take an assistant job in the NFL. BTW, his 'you play to win the game' speech in a press conference last year was awesome.

Doug Williams would be a terrible hire. He's quite inarticulate and wouldn't be able to do anything with the job.

I've always thought that Pete Richardson at Southern is a fine coach and gentleman. If MSU were looking at the SWAC for a hire, Richardson is the man to get.

About Tuberville, I hate that ****-eating smirk that's always on his pasty face, whether he's winning or losing.

About Jimbo Fisher. I think he's waiting out Saban's tenure, but we'll see.

I can only hope that MSU hires Doug Williams. Jackie Sherrill has been the closest thing to a sure-thing win we have had in the SEC, and Williams would fill that role admirably.

Charlie Strong has much better qualifications, so I hope he is not seriously considered. The SEC is tough enough as is.

I was reading this and something came to my mind when the poster mentioned Pete Richardson. With all the success that guy has had, how come he hasn't been offered a div 1-A coaching opportunity.

I think he could be, if he sought such a job aggressively. I've always gotten the impression that he was comfortable at Southern and planned to retire there.

He might have to punch his ticket by working as a successful coordinator in a major conference for a few years. That would put him past the "big fish in a small pond" label that minor-conference head coaches sometimes get. He might not be willing to do that at his age, of course.
