In the year 2254 and upon graduation from Starfleet Academy, James T. Kirk was promoted to lieutenant and posted to the U.S.S. Farragut under Capt. Garrovick. On the Farragut, Kirk was a navigator and served on a crew complement of around four hundred. In the year 2264, Captain Kirk was promoted to captain, in command of U.S.S. Enterprise for a five-year mission. While on the U.S.S. Farragut as a newly-promoted lieutenant, Kirk had a tour of duty that was distinguished by his command of a survey mission to Tyree's planet Neural in 2254. There he made a guilt-plagued discovery of a creature dubbed a "cloud vampire" which led to the deaths of his captain and 200 shipmates. Although he realized that there was nothing he could have done to save them, Lt. Kirk caught and ultimately recover from Vegan choriomeningitis. He would carry the rodent-born viral infectious disease microorganisms of it in his blood the rest of his life.
Definitely qualifies as a little known fact. I never saw this episode. He's only half Vulcan and he does get pissed. He just doesn't show or react to it. Most of the time
Albert Nelson, known professionally as Albert King, was a half brother to BB King. They were both born in Indianola,MS and BB's father was named Albert King.
The story of Lucille[edit] B. B. King with Lucille. In the winter of 1949, King played at a dance hall in Twist, Arkansas. The hall was heated by a barrel half-filled with burning kerosene, a fairly common practice at the time. During a performance, two men began to fight, knocking over the barrel and sending burning fuel across the floor. The hall burst into flames, and the building was evacuated. [1] Once outside, King realized that he had left his guitar inside so he went back into the burning building to retrieve his beloved $30 Gibson guitar. King learned the next day that the two men that started the fire had been fighting over a woman who worked at the hall named Lucille. King named that guitar, and every guitar he subsequently owned, Lucille, as a reminder never again to do something as stupid as run into a burning building or fight over women.[2] B.B. King wrote a song called Lucille in which he talks about his guitar and how it got its name. The song was first released on the album Lucille and is included on the B. B. King Anthology 1962–1998 album.
