In 1973 the Saints had the second pick in the 1st round, but had traded it to the Baltimore Colts. With the second pick in the draft the Colts took Former LSU QB Bertram Hays Jones.

And who was the number one pick that year? John Matuszak.

For all the bad move the Saints have made in their history I can't blame them for that one. In 1973 they didn't need a quarterback. They already had Archie Manning

Oy. When Tooz was still alive I had several opportunities to talk with him. He was good friends with Howie Long and I did some work for Howie and his wife Diane. Tooz was a scary individual. Angry, big, mean, hostile. Roids brought out the worst in him.

The '73 draft was pretty weak in the long run, but giving up the 2nd pick for Billy Newsome was one of the all time great draft trade blunders. Sure, the Saints didn't need Jones, but the Patriots got Hall of Fame guard John Hannah with the 4th pick, and the Cardinals took eventual All Pro DT Dave Butz at number 5.

Yeah, steroids and testosterone turned him into a madman and the guy was huge at 6-8. Lots of players simply loathed him. He got himself banned permanently from the Raiders facilities after he attacked assistant coach Terry Robiskie (7 inches shorter and 70 pounds lighter) in a notorious locker room fight. They say he sucker-punched Terry in the head and started beating on him badly until Robiskie picked up a metal crutch and mangled it on Matuszak's head. The team later mounted it on the wall and called it "Biskie's Tooz Pick".

Surprisingly, his mostly comedy roles in his short Hollywood career were not too bad.

My oldest son was born two days after Easter the last time that it fell on the date of April 20 (which was 2003). Before 2003, Easter had not fallen on April 20 since 1930.

With the date of April 20 having a connection to negative events (most notably Columbine), hopefully there are no negative events that take place this Easter Sunday.

This year's April 20 would also mark Hitler's 125th birthday.

Terry went to Second Ward, now replaced by West St John. Came from Edgard. Evergreen Plantation, in Edgard, was owned at one time by my Mom's Family.
