Speaking of 40 times.. as much as i dont like Clarett.. i was reading an article on him that he basically over-bulked and over-trained and that is what killed his 40.. they said he was ripped, benched the 225 like 25 times. Look for him to drop some weight and run alot faster for an individual workout.

That's interesting. I didn't see him but I heard one reporter say he was fat.

if he came out and ran a 4.4, the majority of the teams would still shy away from him. this guy, with the exception of a big orange bowl and a solid frosh season hasn't shown that he's worthy of being drafted. he's got serious character issues and when he walked away from the combine after posting those terrible times, many teams immediately took him of their draft boards. this guy shafted OSU and has sued the NFL numerous times for eligibility and took money from an agent. it's not like we're talking about a can't miss prospect. clarett's just not worth the risk or the headache, esp at the RB postion.

You may have heard a reporter talking about him last year. He was not at all fat this year, just bulked up w/ muscle.

I'm guessing he'll be drafted somewhere in the 6th or 7th round, and a team will give him a legit shot. He looked great as a freshman, and didn't do anything at OSU that hasn't been done a million times before.

And I, for one, don't blame him for suing to get in the league. He wanted in, they wouldn't let him, so he took it to court. I'm not saying the guy doesn't have character issues (far from it), but I personally don't see him as the pariah that people have made him out to be.

I agree that him suing the NFL won't have anything to do with what round he gets drafted in. His other issues will. He did look pretty muscular to me and not fat. I think walking away from the combine after the 40 was a giant mistake as he had the opportunity to impress in the other tests like strength, agility, etc, which may be more important than his forty time after seeing how many guys with poor 40 times did great in the NFL. A big mistake by this guy, showing his immaturity all over again.

These people get paid to find the most talented people available to help their team win. They could care less about his lawsuit vs. the NFL. That being said, a lot of coaches and scouts feel the guy has turned it around. He showed up absoluetly ripped, but wore himself out and was overstressed. He'll regroup as he's already working with a "fast twitch" coach to get his speed down.

I bet a Buffalo Nickle that he runs at least a 4.6/40 on his pro Day, which is better than many starting RB's in the NFL.
