You're blaming him for trying to put our fiscal house in order? Place the blame where it belongs, with the legislature. They have protected everything except education and healthcare from cuts.
The legislature is Bobby Jindal's lapdogs. The blame is Bobby Jindal's. It is all his policies and his far right-wing ideology. They slashed the state's income and are trying to turn it into a nanny state. Instead of fixing public schools, he is paying people vouchers to attend private schools with public money. Once the state provided fine universities with cheap tuitions for the citizens. Now Jindal has slashed and burned the universities forcing them to raise tuitions, which Jindal pays for through TOPS scholarships with public money. Once it was the states job to provide the university and the schools and it was the citizens job to pay their own way through. Now, through vouchers and TOPS, Jindal is buying everybody's education with public dollars, all the while slashing and burning hospitals, universities and state agencies with cut after cut. He's going to leave this state in a terrible mess when he leaves. The blame is his. He has earned the title of worst governor ever.
On a serious note, I don't follow La politics as closely as those of you who still live there. If he's that bad, how did he get reelected to a 2nd term besides the obvious answer?
The major reason is that no seriously funded Democrat candidate ran against him. The National Democratic party had priorities elsewhere and chose to wait until Jindal was term-limited before pouring on money on the unknown candidates that ran.
I don't post here much, but any thread titled "louisianna worst governor" absolutely must have Kathleen Blanco's name in it!!
How times change. The Democrats ruled La politics during my young days in the '50s & '60s. Although my parents and other relatives were all staunch conservatives they were registered Democrats.
