Ouch, that hurts. . . Please tell me there weren't really rings like this made for the team huh? That'd be reaching.

Yes you made SEC West Co-Champion rings in 1996.

Even though the system in place CLEARLY said Alabama was the West Champions because they beat you 26-0 that year.

Hm...make rings when the system doesnt declare what you want?

Its funny the timing of this comes right after you guys made such a big deal out of our national championship rings.

I'm not goign to make fun of you for this, hell if your coaches want to make rings for the players, they can do it every season for all I care. Just wanted to point out that some of you guys are too quick to forget what your own university has done.

The SEC has an official designation of Co-Champions. Alabama went to the SEC Championship by virtue of the tiebreaker. I've already debunked this **** on your board, go read it over there. Now if we made "Champion" rings, like Ole Miss stated they were in 2003, that'd be something else entirely.

EDIT: BTW, the rings also say "Peach Bowl" on them, which you conveniently left out of the discussion.

Yes, the LSU Fighting Tigers made themselves some divisional Co-championship rings. But hey, I don't blame you guys. You only had three winning seasons that entire decade. :thumb:

    Co-champs baby! Heauxll Yeaxh!!

i'll let you keep thinking that you were somewhat clever in your employment of 'eaux', despite the fact that it makes absolutely no sense in this case.

but trying to denounce us for commemorating something we actually accomplished to try and compensate for the incredible douchery your school displayed by making rings commemorating something it didn't even compete for is stretching it entirely too far.

I have been quiet as the new kid on the block through this whole thread, but I must speak up a bit on this whole ring thing: who gives a nutria's butt who makes what rings for what reason? If some of you LSU fans got all bent out of shape over the Auburn rings (which I personally didn't agree with, but the school or athletic department didn't consult with me before they did it), why is it any skin off your rear? Geez, you would have thought that the rings had some sort of anti-LSU crap on them. Instead, you all got your shorts in a wad over the NC part and then the Hard Fighting Soldier portion of it. I guaran-damn-tee it LSU had made some sort of reference to the same thing based on a song that was a motivational tool for the team last year, no one would have said ****.

As far as the Peach Bowl rings, they were co-SEC West champs that year, so let them have their fun. Those players have a momento from a pretty decent season. I bet the walk-ons that sweated through two-a-days and got in for 23 seconds during an win over LA Tech cherish it. The guys who went on to play in the NFL probably lost theirs years ago.

I have a friend who wears a cheesy national championship ring for SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL. Sanctioned by who, I have no idea, but hey, their team obviously won some type of tourney somewhere, so he had a ring made. I give him grief every time I see him, fawning over it in a sarcastic manner.

Rings, so what, worry about more important things, like replacing your entire starting offensive backfield in Auburn's case or finding someone to take Spears and Websters' places on defense for LSU.

Oh, let the little Aubbies bitch and moan about SEC Co-West rings or whatever they want. Nobody cared back then and still today nobody really cares except the aubies desperate to find anything that will make anyone else look anything like the idiots they look like with these rings.

I love how on several boards their school is being laughed at for the rings. OU's, Texas, and some others that I breezed through today.
