People would be going crazy right now if there were no polls out. They just give us something to talk about before we get to the season.
The last time LSU started at #5 we had a terrible season. I do believe Miles is going to do much better than Dinardo.
USC & Auburn are completely different situations. Some people actually voted USC number 1 in a legitamite(sp?) poll - although not THE poll, not like Auburn where it was just some phony poll set up by their own fan.
This really pisses me off! In sports ill., not only do they have us ranked 13 but check this out. They say USC is going for 3 strait NC's right. But when they talk about LSU we won the BCS championship in 03 not the National Championship, the BCS. But USC wins the National Chamionship. What a crock of BS. But then they said USC had players hurt before last year but still got another Crystal Ball, ANOTHER one. If I remember right it was there first. Its just another example of the media kissing USCs ass. Someone please join in my anger.:geauxtige

Im not talking about our ranking Im talking about how they say we win the BCS nc but usc wins THE NC. But yet they show them with their one crystal ball, which by the way goes to BCS NC. And Ill be angry if I want to Iowa boy
No not at all! After seeing SI rank us at 13th :angryfire (what the hell were THEY thinking?), I was expecting the AP poll to do more of the same. 5 isn't bad at all!
Im suprised that they dont claim 2002 since they were champs in the Dunkel, Matthews, and Sagarin polls...
All right: first the coach's poll, now AP. I'm gonna have to do a little digging and show why it's balls out stupid for Texas to be ranked second to start the season. Luckily for all ranked beneath them, Ohio State is gonna whip their ass in under a month...and that's not BS, because the reasons are a plenty as to why. A team and a coach who hasn't finished higher than second in its own division the past, what, 8 years is ranked second in the preseaon after we had a 1-2 team wire to wire job that resulted in controversy as to who really was number one. I think they will beat OU this year...but it'll be out of partial desperation after starting the season 1-1.
