I like where we sit right now, but I can't pick the upsets that it would take. I just don't trust Texas Tech to get it done, they never beat Texas. It's possible A&M will be jacked up for that game, but they've been a major disappointment this year. As for USC, there's always Cal, Fresno, and UCLA, but I've given up hoping they will lose one. If upsets happen, we are in great shape to get back in it, but I'm not overly optimistic at this point.
Interesting: one thing weighing down Miami is having Temple on their schedule. With an 0-11 Temple season more probable than possible, this could really hurt Miami in the lineup of 1-loss teams down the stretch.
Temple by themselves will not kill Miami's SOS. Better than expected Colorado and South Florida teams will keep there SOS high. I think we will need another Miami loss to get us ahead of them in the end.
That all depends on how the two teams are playing. If USC continues to squeak by opponents and LSU starts blowing opponents out, I could see us ahead of them.
I think it's as simple as it's getting too late in the season for USC to lose and still stay ahead of us. And if anyone buys into the "media loves USC, therefore they won't fall too far", remember how much the media loved Oklahoma before the Big XII championship game.
Man, we've got so much work left to do before we can even think about this. I know it's good BB fodder, but I'd rather just worry about AU right now. Without that win, all of this talk means nothing. They will be gunning for us HARD.
