yeah and i think mr. pellini will have a thing or two to say about this 'mystery' as well. i wonder how many teams 'mystified' the blackshirts? couldnt have been that many as they had 32 interceptions his last year as DC. i think bo is going to be flying under the radar for now, only to absolutely smack SEC offenses in the mouth week in and week out come fall. :geauxtige
So USC's toughest opponents (according to this) will be #15 Fresno State at home, a #22 Cal team that loses 11 starters, and a #16 Arizona State team that we will send limping home from Death Valley. I hate to be the first to harp on it, but different year, same story.
Tennessee & Florida are both being overrated. Both will be good times, neither will be a top 5 team. Florida is magically going to go from outside the top 25 to the top 5 just because of a new coach?! They will be a top 15 program, and Meyer might be able to continue that success & make them a real force, but I doubt he can do it by next year. Tennessee has got alot of returning stars, so it's easy to hype them up. However, look at last year - they really weren't that good. Lost to Notre Dame, shouldn't have beat Florida, got lucky in a win against a Georgia team that didn't show up - they just had a lucky season last year. Don't look for that luck to happen again next year. I just hope both these teams are still being hyped up when we get to them. Miles has a luxury not being hyped up. Everybody knows LSU has the talent, but Miles is going to have to earn the respect next year. He gets plenty of early opportunities. Let's hope he can make the most of them.
Texas has to have a great deal of luck to make it past week 5 without a loss. Huge problem if their running QB gets hurt. They don't have a backup. RB Taylor is the real deal but he's small. RB Young is very good but has been hurt. If one or both go down, they've got problems. They don't have a receiver on the squad that's shown jack shot, despite all the talk of potential. They have speed but Ohio State will too. And then there's Stoops in Dallas in early October waiting to give Mack his annual wangin'. Can't see 'em hangin' in this high. I have to believe all the chaos at Tennessee has to have had some negative impact on this program. And Fatboy's nemesis, the ole ballcoach is back to revive the ridicule. Tennessee will get dusted somewhere along the way because they deserve it, and I will it so. And, my will be done.
Auburn that high with their 3 offensive saviors and their defensive god gone? I love that....another season where the aubbies fall fall fall on high expectations
The first of which will be the Tennessee - Florida matchup in early September. #3 against #5 is total BS, but it will sell tons of copy in Florida. SI went on the line to say that Florida has a veteran D. :hihi:
Florida should beat UT this comming year - last year's inspiration should be more than enough. LSU - Arizona should be a game all Tiger fans are nervous about. Our first true test with new coach Les Miles. No reason not to win this one, but with a new coaching staff you never know. LSU should beat UT as well - it will be a tough game & will depend on how ready Miles has this team, but there's no reason we shouldn't win this game. LSU - Florida is a push. Too hard to tell with both programs having new coaches. LSU's got better talent & experience but it's yet to be seen who has the better coach. LSU - Auburn there should be absolutely no reason to lose this game. Auburn will have a good team, but LSU should definitely be better. LSU - Bama a game that makes me nervous. Bama could suprise us & win it. I see LSU losing a maximum of 2 games next year (regular season). Being ranked 7 will likely mean 1-2 losses to good teams. It would be ok, but we're capable of more.
That UF/UT game will be a HUGE game expectation wise for both teams. I will enjoy watching someone be very pissed
I hate USC too, but you can't blame them for the PAC-10 being soft lately. UCLA, Oregon, Oregon St., ASU, Washington were all elite at one time. Even USC was dogsh*t for about a decade before 2001. (By the way, somebody will figure out USC this year. I say they lose a game or 2). Imagine the SEC with Bama, UT, UF, Auburn all having off spells. It happens.
