is anybody surprised that georgia finally showed that this year is a rebuilding year. going into the season, you could tell that their defense was not at the elite level to hold quality opponents while their offense sputtered without an established QB and a far from dominant run game. just a recipe for mediocrity. i hope that they can finish in the top 25 but it was silly for them to be anywhere near the top 10.
That's what we thought too in '03. The USC fans are already starting to say the BCS is the one that counts and the AP doesn't. Go figure!! Don't worry, I told 'em for you.
I respect the AP poll more than the rest of the opinion polls. The coaches poll almost always seems less well done.
Georgia's defense has given up 25 points in 4 games. (6.25 per game) Actually, I'm surprised that you don't know that Georgia has a very solid defense this year.
And I'm the complete opposite... Remember, the coaches poll had it right in '03 where the AP always seems to suck USC's arse...
i think the sec in general doesn't use the TE as a position on the field so they were thrown for a loop early on by colorado running the same play over and over again. i just threw that out there because there is no other explanation for UGA having to come back at the end of a game to defeat a team, AT HOME, who lost to a 1-AA team, AT THEIR HOME. uga's problems are on offense this year. will cox get the nod over stafford?
Wow, I'm shocked they moved us ahead. I thought they definitely should. I think a team that plays like GA did this past Saturday deserved to fall in the polls behind us. Nice job. Maybe they are learning finally.
If you remember in '03, the only reason LSU was crowned by the coaches is because of contractual obligations. USC was #1 going in to that game. The coaches always seem to have moves that don't make sense. The AP isn't any more a popularity contest than the coaches, and in fact I'd argue the AP is less.
