Both lines were manhandled, unfortunately. Re the OL, quite frankly, I don't think it would have mattered much if LSU had tried other types of plays, e.g., sweeps, misdirection, etc. The bottom line is LSU's OL got owned by Bama. It happens.
Sometimes? Miles is great at many things, but this loss was another epic earth shattering inexcusable loss. I don't really have any issue with what our players did (well, maybe OL). Hell, a good loss would have been one thing, but this wasn't that. PS - Some things are said in the heat of the moment and you shouldn't take them to heart. I know you know this. PPS - Thanks for being a great tiger fan.
Fournette had no hope for anything in this game. Everytime he got the ball Bama players were already closing in on him. No RB in history, no Brown, Sayers, Sanders, Peterson, etc could have done anything tonight. The OL sucked, as did the play calling to help free up Fournette. I can agree with criticism of the coaching for the game because LSU was ill prepared, while Bama was prepared and focused. They wanted it more than LSU.
Making the playoff with Fournette would be a start; I hope Miles doesn't pull a Dale Brown/Shaq and squander the talent he's brought here. If I were on the team I'd be upset, but you just gotta regroup and move on, keep pushing forward. Give us 24 hours. Sheesh.
yea it was hell but could have been worse our D stepped up and held them for the amount of time their O was on the field and the O had fleeting moments of nice passing im licking my wounds but looking forward to the next game i kinda thought we would lose a game or two this year but I think that Bama is that good , Ole Piss just caught them with their pants down and we all bought into it
I'm glad to hear you say that. I hated this for Fournette tonight. Of course, the game became a little more bearable (not really) when I finally took my daughter's suggestion at the beginning of the 4th quarter and muted Verne and Gary. If I had to hear Fournette's shitty stats even one more time, I may have lost my mind, too.
Here's the deal, LSU has the talent, we have seen some of the greatest players to ever suit up for the Tigers, guys that clean house in the NFL get outplayed year after year after year in this game. If Fournette played for Alabama he would have run for 400 yards tonight. LSU is soft. There is no desire to be the best. I'm sick and tired of seeing this team year in and year out get outclassed by a bunch of fucking Gumps. I'm not as disappointed with LSU as i am disappointed with myself for believing this team had a chance to win this game. I should have know better.
What pissed me off most was constantly hearing how Bama has won the last 4, now 5 games. It just irked me to the core. I had to change it to the UFC fights.
