I haven't posted a list in any of these threads, yet, since unlike most of the rest of you, I wasn't born and raised an LSU fan. However, I think the best two receivers we've ever had were walking the campus the same time I was.

    Josh Reed
    Michael Clayton

I figured there would be a lot of votes for Wendell Davis and Eric Martin, but I just didn't get to see them.

I'd probably also add Dwayne Bowe, and I agree with putting Doucet before LaFell.

Davis remains my all-time favorite Tiger. Simply an outstanding route runner and pass catcher, he and Hodson worked together like they had telepathy. IMO, he would have been a 10-12 year pro had it not been for the nastiest injury I have ever seen on a football field, even worse (if not as graphic) than Theismann's broken leg,.

Martin was another great possession-type receiver. A converted running back like Reed, he wasn't as nimble or fast as JR, but was very rugged and tough to bring down in the open field. He and Bobby Hebert were a treat to watch as Saints.

So NOBODY includes Eddie Kennison in the mix? He was unreal at LSU and has been in the pros probobly longer than any LSU receiver I'm aware of. I could be wrong, just my opinion.

Nobody has mentioned Carlos Carson who caught 5 touchdown passes against Rice in 1977 in a 77-0 blowout.

Josh Reed is hands down LSU's greatest receiver followed by Wendell Davis but Carlos should be in the poll.

When someone brought up Carlos Carson, that took me back to my first days listening and following LSU football.

That late 70s team was really good.
