LSU and Texas were the only 2 college programs this year to play in a New Years Day bowl (football), the NCAA tournament (basketball), and the College World Series (baseball). It's a major accomplishment only 2 schools can lay claim to. The success the women's BB team and the track & field teams enjoyed give LSU supporters a lot to be proud of. GEAUX TIGERS!
That is a great accomplishment, although we all would like to have enjoyed a little more success in those three events. That said, I think next year looks very good for all three to return to those events and, hopefully, fare a little better. How about a New Year's Day win, the Sweet 16 and a sixth CWS championship in '03-'04?
<<< How about a New Year's Day win, the Sweet 16 and a sixth CWS championship in '03-'04? >>> It's not out of the question. If LSU made all 3 of these events again (college WS, New Years Day bowl, NCAA tourney), and then won (or went as far in) 1 of the 3 events you just mentioned, that would be icing on the cake. 2 of the 3 would put LSU in an elite category that right now only Texas has achieved in the last year. 3 of 3 would mean we're the measuring stick.
As long as we're wishing why not wish for National Championships in football, basketball and baseball all in the same year?
<<< As long as we're wishing why not wish for National Championships in football, basketball and baseball all in the same year? >>> Amen!
HUSH!! If word that something like that could happen, we'd have to shut Louisiana down for a year for the parties to stop! Man talk about Eutopia!!
