Sorry to burst your bubble...but the guy we've got starting tomorrow has been our best guy throughout SEC play. He's a freshman lefty named Evan Crawford. Got a bright future ahead of him. Last night you faced Brett Butt's who is 1-3 in SEC play with an ERA of 8.37 in 8 SEC starts. Tonight you face Evan Crawford who is 4-2 with an ERA of 3.12 in 7 SEC starts. Sunday we will probably send Chris Dennis to the mound who is 2-3 with an ERA of 7.81 in 7 SEC starts.
The Auburn play by play guy was a guest on local sports radio during the week. His words were "he's terrible, you guys may get 15 runs on him".. He went on to talk about how he felt confident Auburn would take the other two games and get 2 out of 3 this weekend. Is Crawford the usual Saturday starter?
He got his first saturday start in Game 2 of the Kentucky series which was our 3rd SEC series. So throughout non-conference play and first 2 SEC series (S. Carolina, and Vandy) we had a different guy. Not sure why our play by play man referred to the Saturday guy as terrible. Evan's gone 3-1 in the Saturday spot since taking it over.
Could have been sarcasm on his part then. I was only listening for a few minutes. Here's to getting 15 runs on him anyway.
