down from a tie for 10th to a tie for 13th this week. Looks like LSU will need to make a strong showing this weekend, and possibly have to win it to get a top 8 seed.

SEC TEAMS BATTLING FOR TOP 8 SEED

    3. Ole Miss
    12. Florida
    13(t). LSU
    28. Tennessee

Tenn played a very weak OOC schedule, but finished 2nd in the SEC. It would be interesting to see what happens should they win the tourney.

I'm not hopeful of receiving a top 8 seed. However, if Ole Miss gets one, and we can somehow manage to get paired up with them, I'd like our chances of going to Omaha a lot better than I would if we were headed to New Orleans.

I think G_MAN is right on the money. I'd much rather play Bianco's boys than Tulane any day of the week.

Losing to either Ole Miss or Tulane in a SR would be very painful ... but if I had to pick, I'd pick Bianco over Jones anyday!

From Baseball America Will Kimmey chat:

    Q: Dave from manhattan asks:
If today was selection Sunday who would be your national seeds? and in what order?

A: Will Kimmey: As of right now: 1. Tulane, 2. Cal State Fullerton, 3. Oregon State, 4. Nebraska, 5. Florida, 6. Texas, 7. Georgia Tech, 8. Louisiana State

Of course, the selection isn't today, but LSU is in the hunt.

I think (oh, this hurts) Tulane doesn't need LSU to fill Zephyr Stadium for the Supers. The NCAA just might place 2 of the top 8 seeds in Louisiana and then set up the CWS with LSU & the Scum on opening night.

Personally, I don't think Tulane has seen LSU's best this year, but we did hang with their best effort.

Win the SEC Tournament and a Top 8 is a lock. Step one... LM nails MSMoo.

I have friends that went to Tulane and are big baseball fans. They want LSU to get a Super because they don't want to meet LSU again until Omaha if both teams make it. To be put in a SR with LSU is the last thing Tulane wants.

I have been saying all season that I want Louisiana to have two SR's and for the status of baseball in the state to be taken as seriously as it is in California. That can only help all teams in Louisiana.

I wouldn't be too quick to admit that.
