Soap, you're right about not taking too much out of this series but one thing that is really big is Lane having no walks, that is huge. We also need to see how the fielding goes as that can be a weak point for this team.

Been listening via the web. For those either at the first game, or were at this one today, is Nicholls THAT bad? Or did we just put up that good an effort.

12-1 win yesterday, 14-2 in the 7th right now. We're off to a great start. I know some will say, "But it's just Nicholls St." ...but when you put up 26 runs through 16 innings, that's impressive no matter who you're playing.

4 freshmen so far have gotten a base hit in their first at bat as Tigahs today, incredible.

    could someone explain this......

LSU (2-0) will go for the series sweep in the finale set for 1 p.m. Sunday. Junior left-hander Greg Smith (2-0, 2.35 in 2004) will make his first career start against Colonel lefty Marcus Markray (transfer from Paris JC).

Why Greg? I can understand useing Meier Tues. but why not Determan? is greg going pitch 3 there determan 3 then faircloth 3? if im not mistaken i heard Laval say Smith was great for 1 good for 2 and fair for 3 or more last year. so i dont understand this move unless Smith has changed since last year it doent make sense to me!

Nicholls looked bad today....Tigers, OK against a low tier opponent.

You could tell that Nicholls had the wind let out after the first inning....12-1 last nite and 19-2 today....I'll be suprised if Nicholls rebounds on Sunday.

Nicholls just flat out looked deflated in the first inning today...LSU hitters teeing off on their pitcher...they never recovered.

I almost felt bad for them...no wait..awww hell, I did feel bad for them.

The early season games are always "different" in terms of player usage than the later games are.
