It's an unfair comparison. The saints get paid money to look like ass, and these kids are busting hump on the court for free.

LSUGradin I assume your say the home out of conference schedule is dull because the road is anything but. With games against UCONN, Cincinatti, West Virginia, and Ohio St.

I am very excited about this team. With the SEC as weak as it is this year we have a good chance at winning it.. As oppose to past years we have a loaded frontcourt but our backcourt depth isn't very good. I hope Voogd and Temple can play b/c we deff. need them to step up.But i for sure see this team in the big dance.

His impatience in not handling UAB's pressure back in March was "conduct detrimental to the team" enough...LOL.

Seriously, I hope this is the season that John Brady maximizes the talent he has on hand. Bitching and complaining about his coaching takes a lot out of a man, you know. :yelwink2:

This is the first year in a while that I find myself actually looking forward to college basketball, especially LSU b-ball!

I guess it could be the letdown after the 'Stros got to the WS, and the Texans are sorry. OR, it could be that the old Les Miles adage of "the future is very bright" actually applies to LSU basketball now! I'm gonna go with the latter!

Agreed, as with most years (perhaps with a little more optimism than normal), I'm looking forward to the development of our program and the gradual, over the years progress we've made turn into something special.

This year, Brady's got a talented but young (again) team, that should be more exciting (probably a little frustrating early on) to watch. What I think I'll like watching is what kind of risks Brady takes this year, because he has some options. He has a multitude of athletic, long guys and can play 9-10 deep, for the first time (or at least he's stated that he would this season) in a long time. If he puts his money where his mouth is and plays a more pressing aggressive defense and opens up the offense a little more, this could be a pretty interesting team. If the young guys struggle, and Brady gets conservative, I'd suppose we should be happy with results like last season (other than the postseason).

    On other interesting points.

Did you see Davis's quotes about how he feels Bass wishes he was still at LSU, and how a player needs to be careful about coming out early, in today's Advocate article? Really has me hopeful that Glen will not be stupid like Bass and stay at least through his junior year.

Tas' is probably not like Wayne Simeon, b/c I believe he'll be much stronger on the perimeter. Tas' maturity and the "court smarts" of a guy like Voogd, I'm hoping are really going to surprise folks this season. Tas' is going to be a guy that plays his heart out, and is going to be an impact player IMO.

Overall schedule is tough and serious step up over last years... I agree too bad not more of the big games are at home. Perhaps next year.

PG play will be key. Tack needs to come back better than last year for the Tigers to get to the next level. Last summer, Tack played a lot of summer ball in Houston, and I'm wondering if he did that again this year. He doesn't miss that many games, but I am a little concerned that his "off season" work wasn't what it needed to be....

Any news on DJ Augustin? Imagine what we have if we add DJ to an experienced team of Tack, Tas and Big Baby next year? We could potentially have two full 5 man teams that could start in the SEC... As we see from these Media day predictions, the PG position determines a lot of how a team's fortunes will be viewed...:geauxtige

I still have big concerns about starting Minor and Mitchell at the guards. Unless they've grown, we'll struggle defending the perimeter like we did last year. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out this year.

Other than that, Brady finally have some depth and size and should be able to do quite well in the SEC. A beefed up OOC schedule should prepare them better for the beginning of the SEC schedule.

I agree. I couldn't believe there was not one anti-Brady post in the thread.
