That's certainly yours and others opinions, but I was pleasantly surprised with Tack's game last night so I thought I'd give him some props. I'll point out that LSU's runs both came with him in the line up, and I'm not sure that Tack made two bad plays for every good play... I've said before and I'll say again, Tack gives the LSU team some speed and penetrating ability that it doesn't otherwise have. Not saying that he's the greatest or that Temple can't do the job, but I have a feeling as the season goes on you'll see Brady go to him a little more at times. Part of it is, I'm not sold yet on Voogd, although I do think he's adequate. I think a lot of folks were "reading into" Brady's dissatisfaction with Tack trying to make a story there earlier this season. Bottomline is with Tack's injury last season, he's a third string PG trying to get back into the rotation. I believe he outplayed Voogd last night---Voogd gets nervous in big games. Voogd needs to have a good game against good competition to get his confidence up. Temple is really turning into a nice player... thought he had a big game too--just think that at times, having Tack and Temple on the court will be an effective backcourt.

Now, with Martin coming into the fold, I agree you've got all the sudden a good deep backcourt. I'm waiting to see if Martin is more than a shooter, though. Can he handle, bring the ball up and facilitate the offense?

As for Johnson, I was glad I got to see him play. I didn't think he was that bad... just too damn skinny to keep bigger guys out of the block. He seemed active, and got a board in his two minutes. He needs to gain about 20-30 pounds, if possible, just not sure he can.

Kudos also to the crowd and student section... They should get a hand for tourney play atmosphere.

:geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. PACK THE TOYOTA CENTER.

Rolle looks like a twig next to davis. If he wants to make an impact on this team he needs to bulk up. Overall, I was happy to see them pull it out. The game felt like a tournament game and the crowd was awesome. I had to keep turning down my TV because my daughter was sleeping. If she hears "go tigers" or TigerBait she has to join in.

I think you're right on with Tack. He is the key to LSU taking it to the next level. He gives us a change of pace. He presents particular problems to the defense we otherwise don't offer. I don't think he is made to be a starter, I hope his role continues to be coming off the bench as a sparkplug kinda player. He could be an indespensible 6th man if Brady plays his cards right with him.

tack did some nice things but did MANY poor things. i agree, though, that he'll get more and more opportunities---as long as he doesnt regress.

voogd was crappy, but didnt get the chance to settle down.

i wonder how much pt tack can get. gt will play, so youre stuck with an erratic pg with subpar defense and a sg that can score. depending on matchups, i guess mason or martin can play as well.
