I thought it would reach ESPN's college basketball page headline: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/index http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=253300277 Although the picture they have on there is from the Texas game...
I just saw the highlights on the news and the last 2 3 pointers by Darrell Mitchell were sick. He's awesome.
This team can and should definitely make a run for the SEC Title this year, unless JB screws it up. We are only going to get better and better. Let's just hope we don't lose to Houston on Tuesday night. Let's pack the PMAC on Tuesday night.
very proud of the tigers today. athleticism really showed, although WV may be less athletic than any SEC team. KILLED them on the boards, and that is more technique, discipline and hustle than talent/athleticism. dmitch and davis hit several big shots. played good D for the most part. WV had too many open looks but they are veteran and thats what they do. unrealistic to think you can stop them from getting some open 3s. dmitch hit that great shot to win, but always kills me when players take 3s when 2 would do. tmitch is our stopper, but he is not comfortable in the offense yet. too many turnovers and poor shots, but those are probably the two main things you expect from a young team. they are also possibly the easiest problems to correct. most games against sec teams will be completely different in style and strategy. huge feather in the cap come tourney selection time. time to give cjb an extension.
Damn, I forgot that game was today! GREAT win for the Bayou Bengals! This is the kind of non-conf win that'll help with the seeding come March. Way to win a tough one on the road...and that goes for you, too, Coach. :thumb:
Don't sleep on Houston, now. Tom Penders has them playing good ball and they always seem to give LSU fits.
Agree. I almost am more afraid (after the fact, of course) of Houston than I was of WV. Houston has some good athletes, usually is VERY hyped to play us, and Penders has brought in his own respectable class of recruits... Can't wait to watch this one on TV.:geauxtige By the way, hopefully today's game really gives the naysayers something to really think about. This team's good, will get better, and DOES have the potential to do something special this season. I think DMitch and Glen Davis have really worked hard in the offseason to make a difference this year, and this game showed it. DMitch stepped up, and overall chalk up the win to rebounding and defense, which is a testament to JB's work with a young team to get them committed to rebounding and defending a very good perimeter team (which historically give the Tigers fits). Obviously, the offense will need work over the season (the excessive TO's needs to get corrected--many of them were at the expense of our veterans--I wonder if having Tack back will help), but this is a gutcheck game on the road against a very well-respected opponent. This will look big come February when the committee starts studying the Tigers' resume. Way to geaux team!
i dont know, houston is having trouble with VCU right now late in the game. VCU lost to Appl St, btw. that being said, most any team can beat a team that depends on so many freshmen on any given day.
ok, unrelated, but check this out 1 2 OT Total Northwestern St.18 49 9 76 Final Mississippi St. 39 28 8 75 OT i knew MSU was gonna be down, but cmon. look at the difference between halves for NWSt.
I caught the last desperation shot by WV for the Tiger win. I was stuck at Tire Kingdom most of the afternoon trying to get my tires rotated. :dis: Sounds like it was a good win...:bball:
