Hudson played an outstanding tournament. The guy was lights out from behind the arc. He has always seemed to up his game a notch in the SEC tournament though. He should make the All-Tournament team for sure.
Agreed. I was thinking 6 or 7 seed heading into the SEC tourney. Right now I feel LSU is a lock for at least a 6 seed. 5 would be great, that's for sure.
I was upset for a few minutes after the game but I quickly realized what we have in this LSU basketball team right now. We've got a young dedicated team of proven winners. these guys go all out for 40 minutes and compete as a TEAM. All five starters averaging in double figures for most of the season. I am sooo excited about the ncaa tourney!
I spoke to my mother after the game. She saw it and I didn't. She said it was the best basketball game that she ever saw! That must have been some game!! Congrats LSU Tigers.
Damn its weird how things change around here. About a month or two ago, most people wanted to kill Coach Brady. I was never in disbelief because I know he is a pretty good coach. If this play keeps up we can make a real good run in the tournament. Hell, we could've beat the number 4 team in the country tonight without of few of the late mistakes. If the Tigers play there kind of ball, who knows, we might win it all. GEAUX TIGERS
It has been amazing to watch the turnaround this team has had since early this season. if you had told me that WOFFERT and JOSH "THE RIFLE" MARAVICH would see playing time in the SEC tournament i'da sent you to the vet school for a checkup. the UK loss hurts but if Bass and Davis can have such a bad shooting game and we still stay close against one of the best teams in the nation, i can't imagine what well do in the tourney. an interesting note: West Virginia (the only team who beat us at home) had a very good run in the big east tournment, including a win over boston college, which will only help us when it comes to seeding __________________________________________________________________ TUCK FULANE I HATE TULANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ldskule:Coon's Corner est. 1999ldskule:
I had LSU a 4 seed had LSU won the SEC tournament. I had LSU a 5 seed if we beat Kentucky but lost to Florida (basically LSU and Florida would have been fighting it out to see who gets the 4 seed). I still have LSU a 6 seed after this impressive showing. Standing toe to toe with the 3rd best team in the country on a neutral court. LSU is too good a team not to make some noise this year. I think a sweet 16 is the MINIMUM advancement. I remarked in another thread about how Kentucky had thrashed LSU in the midst of this great winning stretch of basketball, and how this game was going to tell us all how far LSU had come. I think the answer is quite clear.
I with you. I have never lost faith in Brady. He's a damn good coach although some haters will probably say the Tigers played this stretch so well in spite of Brady. Overall an outstanding game against UK. A few bounces our way and that's a win. My hope is that this continues and not just the NCAA's but years to come. I would venture that most of you here weren't around during Dale Browns heyday when Basketball was THE ticket in November thru March. I just hope we can get it back to that level and blow the roof off the PMAC every game.
I think you have to give most fans the benefit of the doubt that they will change their mind based on the facts, and most have. Brady was not doing a good job early in the season and he admitted it, the team meeting was evidence of that. He had the ability to change his methods and coaching style and the players have responded, kudo's to him and the players. Kind of reminds me of the Rams near mutiny of Vermiel that ended with a Super Bowl run.
When I was there at the games early in the season, I certainly had my fair share of doubts at the time. The thing that puzzled me the most was the team was totally lost defensively. That was something very uncharacteristic of a Brady coached team. If Brady's teams have always done one thing very well, it's been solid defensive play. It just really seemed as though they were not playing well for him. At the time, based on how things were going, it was very fair for fans to believe that it was "put up or shut up" time for Brady. It is the only poiint in his tenure that I felt he needed to win and win NOW. I am VERY happy he has done so. I am very happy to see how his relationships with players on the court and during games has progressed. He gives a lot of positive re-enforcement now and saves the irate yelling for the refs. It's been a great season to follow. The downs of the early season were tough to take. On the other hand, the successes of the SEC season have in some ways been overwhelming. College basketball can be really fun stuff most of the time!
