It should be mentioned that there was bad weather Saturday and a cold front with freezing rain moved through the area. The possibility of weather delays of flights may have played into it.

What’s your fascination w/smoking polls? You talk about it so much. Have you ever slobbed on a knob in some back ally in cut off?

Polls? Like the ones where you cast votes during elections? Nah...they don't allow smoking within 500 feet of those things.

I'm amazed how you find time to post on this forum while sifting through your vault of kiddie porn. You misspell a couple of words here and there, but it really isn't that bad considering you are only typing with one hand...

Other BB teams fly into the Auburn-Opelika Airport. You could do this non-stop from BR and you sure wouldn't need to be at the BR AP more than 30 minutes ahead of time.

What is wrong with an occasional bus ride? Maybe the team and coaches enjoy taking the bus once or twice a season. Could be some enjoyable trips for them and very well may promote team unity.

    nothing is wrong with it...

there are just some people who have to scream and holler no matter the situation...

We could have taken a time machine there and some would still be complaining...

Well, it is a luxury bus with DVD movie screens and all the amenities.

from a story in this morning's Advocate: Link

    Back up the bus talk

Any brewing controversy about LSU bussing to Auburn for Saturday’s game should wither on the vine according to LSU coach John Brady.

Fox Sports Net announcer Ron Thulin chastised the LSU administration and athletic department late in Saturday’s broadcast, saying that a team of the Tigers’ caliber that is competing for a league title shouldn’t be forced to bus to a game.

But Brady said LSU has bussed to Auburn in each of his nine seasons for a variety of reasons.

The game has always been on a Saturday, most of the time in the afternoon.
\When time for checking in, waiting for luggage and traveling from a bigger city to Auburn is factored in, taking a commercial flight into either Atlanta or Montgomery, Ala., winds up taking nearly as much time as the 420-mile, 5-hour bus trip.
The cost of chartering into Auburn’s very small airport can run in the $25,000 range.
“A lot of factors go into our decision to bus to Auburn, and we do our best to work with (LSU Athletics Director Skip Bertman) and (Associate AD Dan Radakovich) within a budget and wanting to what’s right,” Brady said.

“We sit down with our administrators when we get our schedule and we do everything we can to cooperate with the other programs and not spend money unnecessarily when we have different options. Part of being a successful athletic program is operating within a budget and we try to do whatever we can to work with what we’re given.”

And honestly, Brady doesn’t mind a bus trip or two to allow his team to bond in a less businesslike atmosphere.

“We charter 90 percent of our trips, and that’s the most preferable way to travel during the season,” Brady said. “But it’s not bad to take a bus trip with your team and make the experience something positive. We’re able to look at scouting reports and watch movies and just relax for a few hours together instead of hurrying from the airport to the bus to the hotel.

“When we were getting ready to leave (Friday morning), Darrel Mitchell commented that this was his last bus trip, and I think he’ll have better memories about these bus trips to Auburn than he will a charter flight we take to Nashville or Starkville.”

Brady also said he didn’t agree with Thulin’s public chiding.

“There was no mandate from Skip telling me we had to travel by bus anywhere,” Brady said. “I was kind of offended by (Thulin) making a judgment call on something I work on with my administration and we choose to do. It wasn’t really his place to do that when he didn’t know all the facts.”
