Oh hell no, if he loses 2 of the next 5, we might as well have kept lucky Les Miles. Not sure what the sentimental feeling for Coach O is all about, other than he is a coonass. But that should not cloud anyone's judgment on the matter at hand. We don't need a coach who will win 9 to 10 games a season. We need someone who will get us into the playoffs about every other season. Coach O just about has to run the table to get the job. One exception is beating Bama and then losing a heartbreaker to one of the other 4 teams. That's it.
Seeing a change in play for the better after the half has also been something we hadn't seen under miles in quite a while.
I like Eaux and I think the uncertainty that comes with other folks works in his favor. Still think he needs to impress, but almost all the intangibles work in his favor.
I agree with this. How much clout does a win against Bama buy him? This is a very tough stretch coming up. Run the table O! The job is yours!
I guess people forget the total embarrassment he was at Ole Miss where he went 10-25 for 3 seasons. I know he went 6-2 at USC, but he was the interim coach like he is now. When you're the IC you're playing with house money and have nothing to lose. It's much easier than when you get handed the keys from the start and it's all on your shoulders. Plus the IC is always the most loved cause the fan base is happy the school just fired the clown that was the HC, like here at LSU.
This isn't strictly about wins and losses. It's about player development. It's about utilization of talent and.the coaches. It's about players being prepared and displaying that on Saturdays. Coach O would keep the assistants in place. Strong selling point but probably won t be considered bc of the mike archer fiasco. Too much to risk on an unproven guy even though the so called proven guys get fired every year for losing even more. USCw still regrets letting him go. We could end up the same. Tough call. Let's see how he finishes this season
