Someone on ESPN actually said that LSU having 3 of their opponents lose this past weekend will really hurt them. That kinda sucks, since those 3 teams played 3 other opponents. Bama-Auburn Tenn-Vandy Miss St. - Ark. Add to that another loss by Ole Miss. Kinda seems like that should have happened to just about everyone in the country.
Ole Miss losing is acceptable because all teams have opponents take a loss when they beat them head to head. The loss that really hurts is North Texas to UL-Monroe. Ouch.
True, but how can you penalize LSU for the other 3 losses, when those team played other opponents of LSU. No matter the results of those games, LSU takes a hit for 3 of their opponents losing.
Unless the comment from ESPN came from Brad Edwards, don't give too much credit to it. There are at least 3 people on this board who know more about how the BCS works than ANYONE at ESPN aside from Brad Edwards. LSU will not be penalized significantly for any of the other 3 losses. We are temporarily being penalized for the Mississippi State loss, but only because we haven't played Arkansas yet.
