I didn't say it was an injustice. It was an action that I disagree with whether it be a cross or any other symbol. The state shouldn't be in the business of censoring anything. In fact, a university is the one place where any idea or thought should be able to be openly discussed without censorship. If they didn't want to "offend" anyone then they shouldn't have used the photo, but they crossed the line into censorship when they manipulated the image. And my religious beliefs aren't offended, my beliefs in Liberty are. LSU is a state school not private. They serve the citizens and taxpayers of Louisiana.
No one is saying that people can't express their beliefs. No one, at all. The university simply chose not to align themselves with christianity, which is perfectly within their rights. Considering that LSU doesn't prohibit the display of the purple and gold confederate flag at tailgates, you'd be hard-pressed to prove that they're anti-free speech. All the more reason for them to avoid displaying images of religious deference.
"Yeah, sure; whatever helps you sleep at night" Add it to your growing list.....weak. Your prior post was you defining what should be important to others.....my response followed.
Right. It was me telling you that there are far more severe indicators of a troubled society than this. I'd encourage you to avoid the conversation altogether if you can't accept the criticism.
The university didn't want to "offend" other groups. We've let this sort of thing get out of control in our country.
